ABOUT: California Highway One has several names. Perhaps the best known is PCH or Pacific Coast Hwy, but it is also known as the Cabrillo Hwy, Shoreline Hwy and simply the Coast Hwy. This wikipedia page tells all about it.
The SHAPE of the Sign: The California State Highway signs are in the shape of the spade used in the Gold Rush by the Forty-Niners. Originally designed in 1934.
