Dorothy Day has been called the "American Mother Teresa."
Let us remember the 146 people, mostly young women, who gave their lives 100 years ago in the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire in New City on March 25, 1911. Their needless deaths were the turning point that helped pave the way for current workers' rights and safety standards.
