advent wreath

This Advent Wreath base is made of high quality birch plywood, painted with several coats of acrylic paints and varnishes. There is a Trinity symbol painted in the center with custom copper spikes to hold the candles firmly in place.

The greens are simply laid around the base and can be easily refreshed with newly cut greens if needed as the original greens dry. There's no need to buy an expensive wreath that dries out before Christmas arrives.

Advent Wreath shown below on the 4th Sunday, refreshed with new greens and a wooden banner with the words from the old hymn, Come Thou Long-Expected Jesus. Be sure to NEVER burn the candles unattended.

The circle of the evergreen branches symbolizes the eternity of God. The four candles represent the four weeks of Advent. The three purple candles are for penitence as a reminder that Advent is a time to prepare for the coming of Christ --- to prepare a place --- to make room for Him in the inn. The pink candle represents the 3rd Sunday of Advent, Gaudete Sunday. Gaudete is Latin for Rejoice. Much like Laetare Sunday in Lent, the 3rd Sunday of Advent is when we can break from our fasting and preparations to rejoice in His coming.

Listen to Gaudete with the King's Singers.
